Background

At Blink, our primary objective is to elevate the Bitcoin payment experience for both users and merchants alike. We have recognized that one significant challenge faced by many businesses utilizing BTCPay Server is the intricacy involved in integrating Lightning Network transactions into their operations. This issue has prompted us to focus on finding innovative solutions to simplify the process and make it more accessible for everyone

Try it! Is easy and fast

How-to

  • Install: Add the Blink Plugin to your BTCPay Server (BTCPay Server v1.12.1 or higher). Non-custodial (Spark) account support requires Blink Plugin v1.1.0 or later.
  • Select your default Balance – choose between Bitcoin Balance or Dollar Balance.
  • Key Generation (custodial account): Create a Blink API key via your Blink dashboard with the Read and Receive scopes. These scopes let BTCPay Server create invoices and receive payments, but not send funds — so even on a third-party BTCPay Server instance your balance cannot be moved, giving you peace of mind. (Only add the Write scope if you intend to send from BTCPay Server.)
  • Link Up: Connect your Blink account to your BTCPay Server Store. Navigate to 'Lightning > Settings > Custom Node' and enter the connection string for your account type:
    • Custodial account: type=blink;api-key=blink_YOURKEY
    • Non-custodial (Spark) account: type=blink;ln-address=yourname@blink.sv — no API key needed; receiving only.
